In the tender and uncertain seasons of life, we don’t need advice or someone to analyse us, fix us or tell us what to do. We simply need someone who can sit beside us with compassion, listen deeply and remind us that we don’t have to carry everything alone. Compassionate Presence Sessions offer exactly that: a private space where you are welcomed exactly as you are—a place to exhale, soften and feel seen, heard, understood, and deeply cared for.

The Story Behind Compassionate Presence Sessions

In 2012, my life changed forever when I suddenly lost my father and the world I knew quietly fell apart. At the time, I did not know how to process grief of that magnitude, so my nervous system did what it was designed to do and protected me. For years, I lived in survival, avoiding anything that might remind me of my father or bring me into contact with the grief I was not yet ready to face. On the outside, I kept trying to move forward, but within, I felt disconnected from myself, constantly bracing for life rather than fully living it.

Looking back, I can see that what I was carrying was not simply sadness, but profound trauma that shaped the way I related to myself, my relationships, my work and the world around me. As the years passed, I began to question everything: the life I had built, the stories I had inherited, the relationships I was maintaining and the version of myself I had become. What followed was not a neat or linear journey of healing, but a slow and necessary unravelling. It was a gentle peeling away of the identities, expectations, beliefs and protective patterns that no longer reflected who I truly was.

Over the following years, I immersed myself in personal development, nervous system healing, somatic practices, grief work, spirituality, feminine embodiment and the courageous process of rebuilding a life that felt authentic and deeply aligned with who I was becoming. There were many moments when I wished I had someone beside me. Not someone trying to fix me or offer solutions, but someone who could simply sit with me, listen with compassion and remind me that I did not have to carry everything alone.

Dr Peter Levine’s insight, frequently expressed as, “Trauma is not what happens to us, but what we hold inside in the absence of an empathetic witness,” shifts our understanding of trauma from the external event itself to the experience of carrying its impact in isolation. Sometimes, what we need most is not advice or analysis, but the steady presence of another human being who is willing to stay beside us with warmth, empathy and care.

Compassionate Presence Sessions were born from that longing. The space I once so deeply needed has become the space I now offer to others, because I know how profoundly meaningful it can be to feel met, not with judgement or advice, but with tenderness, understanding and genuine human connection.

What Is a Compassionate Presence Session?

A Compassionate Presence Session is not therapy, counselling or traditional coaching. It is a gentle conversation held with deep presence, thoughtful curiosity and genuine care. Together, we create a calm and welcoming space where your nervous system can begin to settle, your thoughts can soften and become clearer, and your own inner wisdom has room to emerge.

There is nothing you need to perform, prepare or work out before you arrive. You do not need to have the right words or know exactly what you need. You are warmly invited to come exactly as you are, with whatever feels present for you in that moment.

Who These Sessions Are For

These sessions may support you if you are moving through grief, loss or a significant life change; feeling overwhelmed, exhausted or emotionally tender; or standing at a crossroads and feeling unsure about what comes next. You may be longing to reconnect with yourself, processing changes in your relationships, boundaries or identity, or simply feeling alone in an experience that is difficult to explain.

You may also be seeking a warm, non-judgemental space in which to be truly heard, or feeling called to slow down and reconnect with what matters most to you. You do not need to be in crisis to receive compassionate presence. Sometimes, we simply need somewhere safe to pause, exhale and listen more closely to ourselves.

What Happens During a Session?

Every session unfolds naturally. Rather than following a rigid structure or arriving with a predetermined agenda, I meet you where you are and gently follow what feels most meaningful and supportive for you.

Our conversation may explore your present circumstances, emotional experience, nervous system awareness, relationships and boundaries, self-trust, confidence, identity, grief, transition, purpose or direction. We may also consider what it could mean to create a slower, gentler and more nourishing way of living. There is no pressure to share more than feels comfortable, reach a particular conclusion or leave with a resolution. This is a conversation that honours your pace, your experience and your individual way of processing.

My Approach

My work is informed by more than a decade of personal exploration and professional study in somatic healing, nervous system regulation, yin yoga, embodied awareness, personal development, grief, life transitions and holistic wellbeing. More than anything, however, what I bring is my humanity. I know what it feels like to lose your footing, to question the life you have built and to rebuild yourself one small step at a time. I also know the transformative power of being met with compassion when everything else feels uncertain.

I trust that there is wisdom within your experience, even when it feels difficult to access. My role is to sit beside you with care, listen deeply and help create the conditions in which that wisdom can begin to make itself known.

How You May Feel Afterwards

My hope is that you leave feeling genuinely cared for, deeply heard and less alone in whatever you are carrying. Perhaps you feel a little safer within yourself, gentler towards your own experience and more connected to what you need. Most importantly, I hope you leave remembering that you are worthy of tenderness, compassion and care, exactly as you are.
